RESTAURANT MANQU
(in project)
A buffet restaurant located on the tourist route to Ollantaytambo, designed to blend organically with the Andean surroundings. The architectural proposal seeks to emulate the mountain range that rises majestically in the background, achieving a dynamic play of heights and curves through intertwined hyperbolic paraboloids. This design creates a fluid and harmonious landscape, highlighting two large openings: a reflecting pool and an internal patio.
The reflecting pool, a sacred symbol for the Incas, connects the earth with the cosmos by reflecting the sky. This element was used in ceremonies and as a tool for astronomical observation, embodying purity, fertility and Andean duality. In this context, the reflecting pool reinforces the vision of an interconnected and balanced universe, integrating the earthly with the celestial.
For the roof, bamboo is used, structured in meshes that evoke lightness and connection with the ethereal. This material, characteristic of our projects, reinforces the link with the cosmos through fluid and dynamic forms. The walls, built with adobe and earth, complement this connection by rooting the space in the solid and the earthly, establishing a dialogue between the firm and the flexible, the lower and the higher, the earth and the sky.
